How do I send over my local network?
Open Lux Paste on both devices while they are connected to the same trusted network. Keep Local WiFi selected, choose the device when it appears, add your files or text, and press Send.
Do both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
They should normally be on the same home, office, or hotspot network. Some guest and public networks block communication between devices, so a trusted private network works best.
Are Local Network transfers stored in the cloud?
No. Local Network items are transferred during the live encrypted session and are not saved to Lux Paste cloud storage.
What if my other device does not appear?
Make sure Lux Paste is open on both devices, both are using the same network, and any VPN is paused. Guest Wi-Fi or router isolation can prevent nearby devices from seeing each other.
What is the Local Network transfer limit?
You can send up to 10 GB total in one Local Network transfer. Keep both browser tabs open until the transfer finishes.
Do I need an account or a sharing code?
No account or code is needed for Local Network sharing. Temporary Share creates a short-lived code for the recipient, while the optional Personal Inbox uses its own username and password.
What is the Personal Inbox?
It is a persistent, password-protected inbox for receiving files and text across your own devices, even when they are not on the same local network.
How long are cloud files stored?
Temporary cloud files use private storage and are removed shortly after their share code expires. Lux Paste is intended for transfer, not permanent storage.
